Every life matters!
The unique and fundamental truth of the Kingdom of God is, each human being is created by and in the image of the living God. People matter, you matter and every life is one of tremendous potential.
We are not an accident of nature or a highly evolved species of animal. As someone cleverly stated, “You did not come from goo via the zoo.”
We are wonderfully made in the image of the living God; created male or female, individual, unique and are of immeasurable value, worthy to be loved, nurtured and protected throughout life, from conception through to natural death.
The wonder and value of every human life, this reality and truth has been known by generations for thousands of years. Over 3000 years ago the great King of Israel David wrote.
You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!
You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something.
You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book. Psalms 139:13-16 (TPT)
Life begins at conception
When the male sperm penetrates the female egg conception takes place. This is day one and while medical science calls this a “zygote” we prefer to say, “a life”. At this stage of your life the colour of your eyes, hair and skin along with facial features and sex were all determined; you are a human being from the start.
Abortion is the world’s single greatest cause of death. It is estimated that 43 million babies are aborted world-wide annually. An over representation of these are baby girls. Sex selective abortion is practiced in a number of countries throughout the world. According to the United Nations an estimated 200 million girls are missing in the world today due to what has been called “Gendercide”.
Even in our modern day when the question as to whether the life forming in the mothers womb is a baby is clearly evident, abortion continues to be presented as a necessary health service for women. One abortion provider was quoted as saying that they were offering women a compassionate service. There is nothing compassionate about killing a pre-born child.
Abortion providers take advantage of women who are often facing difficult choices at a vulnerable time in their life. There is also the argument that women in poor communities are helped by abortion. That is such a cruel solution for someone already suffering the indignity of poverty then to offer to have her baby killed, thus adding to the injustice already suffered. Only a barbaric society kills it weakest and most vulnerable citizens.
Pagan societies used to sacrifice babies as part of their religious duty and practice to appease their gods. Modern society still practices the abomination of sacrifice where pre-born to full term children are offered on an altar of selfishness and convenience via the abortionists deathly hands.
“When one speaks out against abortion you are often labeled cruel, uncaring, uninformed, bigotedand being a religious fanatic by those who oppose our stand for life. It is an emotive and difficult subject, but this is no excuse for us to be silent on this matter. From the beginning of our work in pro-life matters (30 plus years ago) my wife and I always made it our goal to speak clearly opposing abortion, while at the same time being compassionate to the women facing difficult decisions and compassion and care to those who have had an abortion, to assist them through and out of the trauma associated with the loss of their child.”
Robin J Johnson
Go and rescue the perishing! Be their savior!
Why would you stand back and watch them stagger to their death?
12 And why would you say, “But it’s none of my business”?
The one who knows you completely and judges your every motive is also the keeper of souls—and not just yours! He sees through your excuses and holds you responsible for failing to help those whose lives are threatened.
Proverbs 24:11-12 (TPT)
Abortion’s tragic consequences
Abortion kills babies, hurts women and has far reaching consequences on family members. Grand parents are robbed of their grandchildren. There are siblings who will never meet their brother or sister. Medical staff can also be effected and traumatised by the service they provide and the procedures they perform. Communities throughout the world have women and others suffering from the effects of an abortion. Churches are not exempt from having members suffering in silence.
Living Victims of Abortion
It is now well documented, studies detail the trauma suffered by women as a result of abortion. As tragic as abortion is, it is not the unpardonable sin. Nevertheless, there can be serious ongoing consequences; physical, emotional and mental issues for each woman. There is forgiveness, healing and new hope for women who are suffering as a consequence of abortion. Fathers and family members often need help, support and healing due to the loss of a pre-born child through an abortion.
Because of the forgiveness Jesus Christ offers, many women have found a pathway to healing. Instead of living with the consequences and trauma of abortion detrimentally effecting and emotionally crippling them, they are able by His grace to live their lives in peace and freedom.
You do not need to suffer alone and in silence, there is help available! If you need pregnancy counselling, support or post abortion support please contact us.
There are many helpful pro-life resources available. Here is a small and important selection for your interest.
“The gospel of life” is shorthand for all that God says and summons regarding innocent human life. Answering that call, PassionLife works as a prolife global missions partner to missionaries and indigenous Christian leaders, where the plague of abortion, infanticide and gendercide is especially concentrated.
Specifically, we teach biblically grounded bioethics and prepare Christian communities to make the case for life within their secular culture and offer pregnancy crisis intervention services in their neighborhood, bringing the grace of the gospel to the guilt and grief of abortion.
Pro-Life Vietnam
Pro-Life Vietnam mission is to bring the ‘Gospel of Life’ to inform and change the culturally-accepted thinking on abortion. This is a new and fast growing movement across Vietnam impacting lives; rescuing pre-born babies and offering healing to women effected by the trauma of abortion.
40 Days for Life is an internationally coordinated 40-day campaign that aims to end abortion locally through prayer and fasting, community outreach, and a peaceful all-day vigil in front of abortion businesses.
In India, China and many other parts of the world today, girls are killed, aborted and abandoned simply because they are girls. The United Nations estimates as many as 200 million girls(1) are missing in the world today because of this so-called “gendercide”.
Girls who survive infancy are often subject to neglect, and many grow up to face extreme violence and even death at the hands of their own husbands or other family members. Watch the trailer now.
Unplanned is the inspiring true story of one woman’s journey of transformation. All Abby Johnson ever wanted to do was help women.
From Abby’s book comes the inspiring and challenging film by the same name.
About the film
From Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman, the writers/co-producers of God’s Not Dead, comes a film that speaks to one of the most polarizing topics of our day. Unplanned brings us an eye-opening look inside the abortion industry from a woman who was once its most passionate advocate. After reading Abby Johnson’s best-selling book of the same title, Cary and Chuck were moved to bring this inspiring true story to the big screen, giving voice to a woman who has been on both sides of the abortion conversation.
Unplanned is the most important movie you’ll ever see on the most controversial issue of our time. No matter which side of the fence you’re on, no one will leave this film unmoved by Abby’s journey.
